Mini Draft PSL 7 PSL 2022

Pakistan Super League 7th edition has been going to start 27 January 2022 in Karachi Pakistan. All teams have selected their squads. Every team selected their 18 player squads through the Draft and retention player.

Quetta Gladiator owner Mr. Nadeem Omar has advised to Pakistan Cricket Board that The Domestic Players in Pakistan who performing well in Quaid e Azam Trophy, National T20 Cup, and Pakistan Cup should get more chances to be a part of the T20 Squad, It means the squad should contain 20 or 21 Players instead of 18 Players.

So, the Pakistan Cricket Board made a decision that every team has been allowed to take 2 more players in the squads. So the PCB will generate a new draft that is called a Mini Draft and this Mini Draft will be conducted on 7th or 8th January.

There were many important players of Pakistan who haven't been selected in PSL 7 drafting like Ahmad Shehzad who performed well and also was a 4th top scorer in PSL 6 also other players like Azeem Ghuman and Mukhtiar Ahmad who bat and performed very well in recent T20 leagues and also other bowlers who have not selected in the PSL 2022 drafting.

So In mini drafting that will be held on 7th or 8th January 2022, all teams squad have permission to take 2 more players a national and an overseas player. Every team cannot select 2 overseas players but 1 overseas player. Although every team can select 2 national players 1 oversees player.

But selectors should select Pakistan’s national players rather than overseas players who don’t play any league in a whole year like Ben Dunk who doesn’t play any league in the whole year although selectors don’t select him in any squad of any league.

He only plays PSL so rather than these players PCB should give chance to Pakistani national players and promote the young talent. Through this Pakistan cricket will be stronger to promote national and young players rather than those players who just have a tag of oversees but performance is zero.
